My Story

I grew up in Ohio, called California home for nearly a decade, spent five years living overseas in Melbourne, Australia … only to return home to Ohio in mid-2021. For me, it was true what they say: there is no place like home. As an American mother who had my baby girl in the land down under, I’ve gone by both mom and mum- and both titles make me incredibly happy. 

The little cutie you see on our site is Havana Rose, my daughter, and the inspiration for pramglam. Havana is now a happy, free spirited four year old. But when she was about 9 months old, we faced a predicament. I was feeling the pressure to turn her stroller seat around so she could start taking in more of the world around her- but when I did, I found that I really missed seeing her face and sharing the connection and engagement we previously had on our walks together!

When I went searching for something that would allow me to see her when turned forward, I found the product didn’t exist! Thus, the idea for "the Looky Lou Stroller Mirror" was born - and I couldn't be more excited to share it with you.

First of all, for my fellow Americans, in Australia (and the UK) a stroller is called a pram. The Looky Lou stroller mirror is essentially a rearview mirror that fastens onto your pram, allowing you to easily see your baby while out for walks together. It offers many benefits to both baby and parent (or any loved one pushing the stroller) including peace of mind, security, increased bonding, emotional comfort, and accelerated development. What makes me qualified to write a blog, you might ask. Well, in addition to being a mother myself, I also hold a Masters Degree in Psychology and have a special interest in early childhood development. Outside of work and family time, I enjoy reading up on all the latest research surrounding babies, children, and parenting. 

Walking is also a daily ritual for us. And after adding the Looky Lou stroller mirror to our walks, I knew I’d never want to go for a stroll without it - and I also realized that I wanted to share the product with as many parents as possible!
